Parachute Creek Member
The Parachute Creek Member is a geologic unit within the Green River Formation, primarily found in Colorado, Utah, and Wyoming. It is Eocene in age and is well-known for its rich deposits of oil shale and other fossil fuels. The Parachute Creek Member is characterized by its laminated carbonate and siliciclastic sediments, which were deposited in ancient lacustrine (lake) environments.
